This design shows the Elusive and highly sought after "Queens Head" Silhouette Paperweight. This is an uncatalogued design and widely regarded by collectors and experts as one of the rarest millefiori paperweights made at Whitefriars Glass.
 
This design was never produced for sale is almost mythological amongst collectors with the "queens head" silhouette only ever seen in raw cane form and never before in an original paperweight. This design is another incredibly rare and very special paperweight, hence the price.

Bought from the private Collection of Earnest Miller, father of Stuart Miller (Whitefriars Assistant to the Chief of Design Geoffrey Baxter) along with a number of other trial pieces, friggers and one-off Experimental Pieces of Whitefriars Glass.
 
Stuarts father Earnest took a keen interest in Stuarts work and amassed a large collection of rare and experimental pieces which Geoffrey Baxter would give to Stuart from his office or the design department at Whitefriars, to take home to his father to add to his collection.
