Uncatalogued Rare Experimental Whitefriars Design Trial Vase in the Peacock studio range by Peter Wheeler, designed by Geoffrey Baxter.
A stunning design of the Peacock Studio Range colours on an uncatalogued rounded globe shaped vase.
This Vase is very rare, probably one of a kind, and a very special piece.
Bought from the private Collection of Earnest Miller, father of Stuart Miller (Whitefriars Assistant to the Chief of Design Geoffrey Baxter) along with a number of other trial pieces, friggers and one-off Experimental Pieces of Whitefriars Glass.
Stuarts father Earnest took a keen interest in Stuarts work and amassed a large collection of rare and experimental pieces which Geoffrey Baxter would give to Stuart from his office or the design department at Whitefriars, to take home to his father to add to his collection.
This would have been part of a design trial for the studio range shapes that was never put into production, a real gem amongst whitefriars glass.
A superb and very rare design which adds retro style to any setting.
Very good condition - no chips, cracks or restoration.
Produced in the late 1960's's probably as an experiment when deciding on various shapes for the range.
Measuring just over 6 inches diameter, and just over 5 inches tall.
