Uncatalogued Rare Experimental Whitefriars Trial Gold with Copper Brown Streaking Knobbly Vase.
This Vase is very rare, probably the only one in existance in this colour combination. A rare sighting of the elusive copper brown, to great effect. This shape is a catalogued shape but the vase is thought to be one of a kind given the colour combination, a very special piece.
Bought from the private Collection of Earnest Miller, father of Stuart Miller (Whitefriars Assistant to the Chief of Design Geoffrey Baxter) along with a number of other trial pieces, friggers and one-off Experimental Pieces of Whitefriars Glass.
Stuarts father Earnest took a keen interest in Stuarts work and amassed a large collection of rare and experimental pieces which Geoffrey Baxter would give to Stuart from his office or the design department at Whitefriars, to take home to his father to add to his collection.
This would have been part of a design trial that was never put into production, a real gem amongst whitefriars paperweights.
A superb and very rare design which adds retro style to any setting.
Very good condition - no chips, cracks or restoration.
Produced in the late 1970's shortly before the factory closed, probably as an experiment.
Measuring just over 5 inches tall.
