Unusual Whitefriars Design Trial Paperweight with an experimental "setting 6" millefiori setup - designed by Geoffrey Baxter.
This piece would have been part of a design trial for potential new setting patterns that were never released to the production stage. Please see the original design drawings which show that this was intended to be setting number 6 of the p1 design in the experimental drawings.
Bought from the private Collection of Earnest Miller, father of Stuart Miller (Whitefriars Assistant to the Chief of Design Geoffrey Baxter) along with a number of other trial pieces, friggers and one-off Experimental Pieces of Whitefriars Glass.
Stuarts father Earnest took a keen interest in Stuarts work and amassed a large collection of rare and experimental pieces which Geoffrey Baxter would give to Stuart from his office or the design department at Whitefriars, to take home to his father to add to his collection.
This would have been part of a design trial and is a real historical gem amongst whitefriars paperweights.
A stunning and beautiful design which adds quality and rarity to any display.
Excellent condition with no damage.
Approximately 3 inches Diameter.
Sure to be the envy of any paperweight collection.
